As a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiative Al Ghandi Electronics together with Philips has joined to support Dubai Municipality in their campaign “together for better health & safety – dare to share” with an objective to educate residents and the saloon / grooming trade in Dubai about the need for safe & hygienic grooming habits.
Salons are one of the most popular places that are frequently visited by people of different ages, cultures, health practices and social status. Many customers visit salons everyday and they could be a source of danger to public health by transmitting and spreading infectious diseases if the health requirements and practices are not applied.
DARE TO SHARE educates the public on the dangers of unclean equipment in public salons – combs, razors, scissors, even towels where you can be exposed to bacteria in salons through repeated use of one towel; unsterilized manicure and pedicure tools or unclean blade holders. It also informs the public on how to identify a clean salon wherein: it should have good hygiene and ventilation; use sterilisation and antiseptics; use clean towels; staff should wear clean uniforms etc. Lastly to be really safe one should, carry your own salon bag with a towel, comb or brush, manicure and pedicure tools, a shaving razor
The duration of the campaign is one month and it started of with a Press Conference at Dubai Municipality Head Quarters on Sunday, the 16th May 2010.
This CSR initiative is initiated and supported by the Philips Domestic Appliances & Personal Care Division of Al Ghandi Electronics. |
